Born in the late 1980s in the Philadelphia area of PA, I was raised around horses. I currently have 2 horses, a polo Pony Thoroughbred and a Friesian Sport Horse.
Since I was 13 I wanted to get involved with them someway for my future. Art was another passion of mine, particularly sculpture. Growing up I first learned about Breyer Model horses when I was probably a toddler. I was hooked ever since. I have no formal training in art and I am all self taught. The photo you see here is the inspiration for my studio's name- Ruby "Pony" was my companion for over 15 years before she passed away in early 2015.
My favorite mediums to work in are pastels, oils, acrylic and pencil. I use Magic Sculpt and Aves Apoxie for my customs and generally an oil based clay for my original work. I enjoy working and casting my own resins. I am currently studying to find more accurate resources and materials to restore and conserve models in both original finish and custom work.
